Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's initial title since the Rome competition and first on a hard court from that period of that year.
Success also signifies he has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.
His retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved service.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial professional championship, took control to push for a final set.
Moutet rescued four early chances in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
