Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the team enter locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Explorers and Strategists groups.
Fans can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
