EU Officials Condemn US Move as ‘Coercion’
European leaders including the French president charged the US administration of “coercion and intimidation”, after the travel bans targeted figures who have been at the heart of campaigns to introduce laws regulating American tech companies.
“For too long, ideologues in Europe have led organised efforts to pressure American platforms to punish US perspectives they disagree with,” stated the US secretary of state online. “This government will not stand for such actions of censorship beyond its borders.”
